CHAPTER
1

“Babe, let’s get out of here,” Sloane yelled.

No response.

The music was too loud for Parker to here herself think, let alone hear Sloane’s request. She continued to sway to the music, while sipping on the fruit punch flavored beverage the host made for everyone.

It was a typical high school party. There were drunken teenagers tossing each other in the pool while others pointed and laughed. Cups and napkins scattered about. Loud music turned up, with a self-designating Disk Jockey pushing out his favorite tunes over the stereo system.

This party was more special that many of the ones they had attended before. This was an end of the year party. The one where seniors tell lower classmates and their friends final goodbyes before heading off to their colleges or other plans. It was always sad to see friends parting ways; but, it was always a great reason for everyone to get together to drink.

“Parker,” Sloane yelled.

Parker looked up at him. “Yeah, babe?”

“Let’s get out of here,” he ordered.

“Okay, let me tell Becky and Tina goodbye,” she replied.

“Don’t be long, I want to leave shortly,” Sloane instructed as he slapped hands with a fellow classmate coming over to talk to him.

Both, Becky and Tina, were across the tennis courts, talking to their long-time crushes. Parker smiled at their liquid courage. She knew if this were a normal day, neither of them would be that close to their crushes. Yet, after ten rounds of beer pong and a couple shots of tequila, they were invincible. Parker hated to interrupt them. But, she needed to tell them she was leaving.

“Hey,” Parker said as she slid between Becky and Tina.

“What’s up Parker,” Brian acknowledged with a head nod. This was Tina’s crush. Parker understood why she liked him. If she were not with Sloane, she probably would be after Brian too. He was a very attractive guy. His blonde hair was styled into a faux hawk perfectly. He wore black V-neck shirts that revealed his muscular chest. He had blue eyes that pierced through your soul with you connected with him. Yes, Parker liked Brian very much too.

“Hi, Brian,” Parker smiled and waved.

““Hey girl,” Becky slurred as she tried to give her a sideway hug. “I was just telling Matt that we are going to miss him when he goes off to Alabama for college.”

Becky was your typical follower in school. She was envious of all her friends, especially Parker. She tried hard to be noticed by more guys. She wanted the attention, but got it only through being Parker’s friend. She secretly loathed Parker and her perfect world. Becky came from an equally successful family, which meant anything Parker got, Becky got. She was often teased for copying Parker, but never let it get her down. She was the bitch of the group. She wanted all the attention, and fought hard to keep it. She was the girl smiling in your face and spreading gossip behind your back. A couple of times, she almost caused Parker and Sloane to break up by her rumors.

She was a couple inches taller than Parker. Becky was a cute girl. She took mostly after her father, but acquired her mother’s worst features, or so she thought. She had an oval face with a large nose. It did not stand out; it worked with her overall appearance. She had long straight black hair with blue eyes. Her eyebrows were always perfectly manicured as well as her hands and feet – thanks to her older sisters strive for perfection. The competitive side came from her entire family. Average was never good enough, and being Parker’s sidekick made Becky feel average. She was so grateful to be out of high school. Now, she would find a place where she could thrive without Parker. But, for the time being she was Parker’s best friend.

“You were,” Parker repeated teasingly to her friend.

“Yes, I was. Wasn’t I Matt?”

“She was.”

“Well, I guess I should let you two get back to your conversation,” she smiled. “I actually just came over to tell everyone bye. Sloane and I are heading out. He has something to do early in the morning, so we can’t stay any longer.”

“Awe, that sucks. Tell Sloane I will bring you home,” Tina said as she tripped over air and crashing into Becky at the same time.

Everyone fell out laughing.

“Stop laughing,” Tina said unable to keep a straight face herself as the two boys helped the girls to their feet.

Tina was the funny friend. Bless her heart she was clumsy. She could not help it, she was just awkward. She was friends with Becky and Parker by default. She moved in the middle of freshman year to Rottom Hills. She accidently fell on Parker sending her crashing into three other students. It was a classic way of meeting the most popular girl in school. Something clicked and Parker took her under her wing. And, after three years, she still was not any better at walking than the first day. But, she had developed higher self-esteem.

She was your typical blonde hair blue eyed cutie. She was the model for nerd moving to another school, allowing her stepmother to give her a makeover, and overnight becoming popular. If her friends had been able to see her presently, they would not recognize her. She did keep some of her insecurities from being a nerd. She was more of a follower than Becky - which helped her to fit nicely in the equation. She barely ever disagreed with either Becky or Parker. She was always just happy to be a part of the group. She was also easiest to talk into doing something out of the other girls.

Without meaning too, she was becoming a top topic of the locker talk with the athletes at Rottom Hills High School. She had managed to sleep with or preform sexual favors on five of the senior class boys. There were a couple rumors about her with a couple lower classmen. But, nothing was provable. And, she denied all accusations, claiming to be still a virgin. But, there was one video tape floating about that would suggest otherwise. Never the less, she was a great friend to both Parker and Becky. They had never let the rumors put a bad taste in their mouths.

“I think I’m going to take my chances with Sloane, being that he doesn’t drink and all. But you girls have fun. Please, call me if you need a ride or anything,” Parker stated.

“Oh, we aren’t driving anywhere. I gave my kids to Randy’s mom,” Becky informed.

“Your kids,” Tina questioned with a smirk.

“My keys.”

“You said your kids.”

The group laughed at her mistake.

Parker found it to be a perfect opportunity to walk away. She turned and started to head back. She looked across the way, and could tell that Sloane had been watching her even though he was currently pretending to be interested in what the classmate was saying. She knew him better than that. If she was not by his side, he was not paying attention to anyone accept for her. She, also, knew that since all his best friends had left over an hour ago, he was not interested in speaking or hanging out with anyone.

Parker gave each a hug and waved bye to the guys. She turned and headed back towards Sloane. The crowd was thick. It took some finagling to get through without offending anyone or pushing them in the pool. She was certain a couple of the guys grabbed her butt as she scooted past them. She paid their immaturity no mind. She knew it was probably the closest they would ever get to feeling her butt. In a way, the ass grab made her feel special. She had to be attractive for someone to want to grab her without showing his face.

Parker was your girl next door typical American teenager. She was five foot five inches tall, petite figure with sandy blonde highlighted hair. Her big green eyes drew you in. She had rosy red checks with a couple freckles on each side. She was adorable. Her personality made her the most attractive. She was friendly and talkative. She was a parent’s dream daughter, straight-A student, student government president, homecoming queen, and voted most popular by her peers. She had the greatest potential out of all her classmates.

Which is why, she was taken from the moment she entered in high school. Sloane was her first love and first kiss. She had not felt comfortable knowing him further than kisses; but, she loved him. She would do anything for him. She knew after high school they would be married and their families would grow old together. Everything was perfect. She had found her prince charming. He did everything she ever dreamed of. When he looked at her, he stared deeply into her eyes. Whenever they were close, he would whisper sweet nothings into her ears. He gave her gifts and confessed his undying love. And, she was hooked on him.

For Sloane, it was completely opposite. He cared for her. Yet, he had no plans for marriage. He was only thinking about the right now. And, for now, Parker was the hottest girl in school. But, college would offer him a chance to meet new girls. He was not going to spend the rest of his life with a high school puppy love and miss out on the experience of sleeping with as many females as he could. He knew he came from a good family with strong genes. He was arrogant. And, did not feel he needed to do anything other than what he wanted or what suited him at that moment.

And for now, Parker was working for him.

Sloane interrupted the classmate’s storytelling as Parker approached. He asked, “Are you ready?”

“Sure,” Parker shrugged.

“Awesome,” he admitted as he grabbed her hand and shot to his feet, “Alright, Kyle, I’m going to head out.”

“Sure, sure, man. No problem,” Kyle said slapping hands with Sloane’s free hand. He was too drunk to notice how bored Sloane had been throughout their conversation. And, if it weren’t for their brothers being friends, Sloane would have walked away before they ever engaged in a conversation.

Hand locked, Sloane and Parker made their way through the crowd stopping every second to hug or high-five an intoxicated classmate. It was annoying when they wanted to leave, but it was part of being popular. They finally made it out to the car and backed out of the crowded drive way without a hitch.

“Where did you want to go,” Parker inquired.

“The boathouse. My parents are out of town this weekend,” he said with a devious smirk.

“I,” Parker started to tell him she would rather not. But, she lost the nerve. Instead she tried making it appear as if she had to be home soon. “I can’t be out late. I have to go to Breakfast with my family.”

“You always have a breakfast with them,” he rolled his eyes.

She answered, “I don’t have a choice…”

“At some point, you are going to have to do what you want to do,” he rudely interrupted.

“I’m only seventeen. I can’t declare myself just yet, per the government. I’ve got to go tomorrow no matter how compelling your argument is. But,” she smiled already knowing his answer, “you could come with me?”

“Can’t,” he replied abruptly.

“You don’t have anything to do.”

“I do.”

“Like what,” she argued.

“Like sleep.”

“That is not a good excuse. Besides, my parents would love to have you there.”

“I’m sure they would,” he stiffened up his grip. There was nothing he hated more than spending time with Parker’s stuck up uber conservative family. He felt his buzz slipping away with the annoying conversation.

“How about I call Mark and Nancy?” She liked having his parents’ card to use at her will.
“How about I throw your phone out the window?”

“You wouldn’t dare,” she gasped hugging her phone as if it were a baby.

“Oh, I would,” he shot her an evil look.

“I would hate you,” she whined.

“Fine, I will go to breakfast with you.”

“Thank you, baby,” she said giving him a kiss.

“You owe me tonight though.”

“What did you have in mind?”

“You know,” he smirked.

“That’s not going to happen. I’m saving myself for marriage.”

“Technically, I am your future husband. So, why should we wait?”

“It’s the right thing to do,” she countered.

“Then, I’m not going to breakfast.”

“You already said you would go,” Parker huffed.

“Under the condition that you give me what I want.”

“Fine,” she said with her heart pounding. He was twisting her arm, but she knew somewhere in the argument he was right. “I will do whatever you want to do.”

He smiled.

Her heart sank as they pulled into the drive way of the boathouse. In the blink of an eye, they were parked and on their way into the boathouse. She felt like she had made a mistake. She wanted to back out. She knew Sloane was not going to let her. She was scared but followed him anyway.

The door closed behind them. Sloane quickly removed all his clothes. He pulled her over to the couch and removed her pants and underwear. Before she could change her mind, he was inside her. The whole event was over in less than three minutes. He got off her by rolling between her and the couch on the left side, and passed out immediately.

A tear streamed down Parker’s face as she lay beside him in silence. This was not how she pictured her first time. She had imagined romance and love. She thought it was going to be in a place where he lit candles and they kissed passionately. It was supposed to be magical. Not this garbage of a quickie in the boathouse while his parents were out of town. She felt used and disgusted.

She silently cried herself to sleep in his arms.

CHAPTER
2

The alarm going off, caused a moment of panic for Parker as she jolted awake. She stretched across the coffee table to hit her alarm. She opened her eyes to find herself alone in the room. She could see the impression of where his body once laid next to her. She could hear he was not inside the boathouse.

She was alone in the boathouse of her boyfriend’s family. She hoped he was just outside or fletching a change of clothes at his home. She was not sure though. And, her mother would kill her if she were late. So, she rolled off the couch, picked up her clothes, and put them one slowly fighting away tears as the memories from last night flashed across her mind.

She pulled back her hair into a pony tail with the hairband she always wore on her right wrist. She heard a noise coming from outside. It sounded like a guy’s laugh. She could not see anything from where she was standing. She walked over to the door to listen and look out the window. She could see a couple of heads standing on the other side of the boat.

She felt better seeing that Sloane had not abandoned her. But, it did look like he was preparing to take the boat out. She felt her anger boiling. She was not about to sit back and let him forget their agreement. She shot out of the door, allowing it to slam behind her.

Sloane and Evan looked at her.

Parker was very upset and angry at Sloane. In her best attempt to sound happy, she asked, “Are you ready to go?”

“Yep,” he responded.

“Well then, what are you doing?

“What does it look like,” he responded.

“What are you doing then? It looks like you are about to take the boat out with Evan.”

“My girlfriend’s a genius,” he mocked.

Evan snickered.

“What about breakfast?” Parker questioned.

“Breakfast?” He repeated.

“You don’t remember our agreement last night?”

“We didn’t have an agreement last night.”

“Were you that drunk?”
“I was pretty drunk,” he chuckled.

“I heard,” Evan chimed in.

They laughed.

“So, you don’t remember last night?”

He shook his head no.

“Nothing?” She inquired.

“You’re being weird, Parker,” he laughed. If her eyes were darts, he would have been killed instantly. How could he not remember their time together? She gave him her V-card. Tears began to swell in her eyes.

“You’ll have to go without me. Sorry, I made plans with Evan weeks ago, to take the boat out today.”

“Sloane, breakfast is not going to take up that much of your boating time.”

Without hesitation, he answered, “I don’t care.”

“We had a deal,” she whined.

“Give me a break, Parker. You cannot be this upset. I forgot about having other plans. It’s not this big of a deal. It’s just breakfast with your parents, geez.”

“I did something I promised myself I would not do last night because we had a deal; and now you cannot even take a moment out of your schedule to honor your end of the deal,” she cried as she struggled with her feelings of hating him and feelings of being used.

“I’m not trying to hurt you. I just forgot. Can’t I make it up to you by going next Saturday,” he said. “Wait, what did you do last night?”

Her mouth dropped open. “You really don’t remember last night at all, do you?”

He shook his head no again.

“Oh, my god, this cannot be happening to me right now,” she called out with tears falling.

“Why are you crying? I never go with you to breakfast.”

“You promised me.”
“I’ll go with you next Saturday.”

“You know you’ll be in Arizona for your baseball camp stuff.”

“I forgot about that too,” he lied.

“How could you forget that, you’ve been talking about it ever since you they signed you?”

“What would you like me to do then?”

“I would like you to go with me to breakfast. I won’t see you again for like four months. You should want to spend every second with me you can.”

“I do, but I also have friends I want to spend time with too. Some of my friends will be done by the time I come back. Jesse and Sean are leaving next month on their Europe trip. When they come back they’ll both be traveling to the other side of the country for school. I am trying to do my best to keep everyone happy.

“And, this is one of the only days, I have to see Evan before he leaves.”

“I am not worried about Evan…”

“You called,” Evan smirked.

“Hi, Evan,” she said rolling her eyes.

She had nothing against Evan. She just hated the fact that when he was around, her boyfriend had no mind. He jumped when Evan snapped his fingers. She had grown to despise Evan for several reasons. Evan was a permanent bachelor who used the girls around school, and Parker found him to be a bad influence on Sloane and hers’ relationship. Whenever they fought, Evan was always somehow making it worse. But on paper, Parker had nothing against him. She found him to be a typical guy. Yet, as the girlfriend, she found him to be annoying and overbearing.

Evan held the same sentiments towards her.

“Evan could take the guys out on the boat. Then, you could come to breakfast with me, and meet back up with them afterwards.”

“I’m not coming back in to pick anyone up,” Evan corrected.

“Evan, stop being a brat. It would not hurt you to come back and pick Sloane up in about an hour.”

“Sloane, you need to check your girl,” he warned.

“Seriously, I’m not going to breakfast. I promised the guys we would take out the boat.”

“May I please speak with you in the boathouse,” she asked.

“I can’t. I gotta help get the boat ready. I already gave you my answer. I can’t go. It’s not that big of a deal. Here,” he said tossing his keys at her feet, “go to breakfast before you are late.”

She picked up the keys and stormed off.

“Bye,” Evan called out with a smirk.

She did not even bother to look back at him.

“Parker,” Sloane called out to her.

“What,” she answered stopping in her tracks to see what he wanted.

“Don’t be rude. Evan told you bye!”

“Sorry, I must have not heard him,” she lied. “Bye Evan.”

“Tell the rents I said, ‘hello’.”

She rolled her eyes.

“She is pissed,” Evan teased.

“She’ll get over it,” Sloane assured him.

“What was that all about?” Evan asked.

Sloane shrugged his shoulders.

CHAPTER
3

“Good morning, Mother. Father. Jane. Preston.” Parker greeted her family as she entered the restaurant five minutes late.

“You are late, young lady,” Frank stated glancing at his wristwatch.

“I tried to get here as fast as I could,” she apologized.

“We had the waitress pour your coffee for you, “Frank stated pointing towards the seat between Preston and Edith.

Parker took the seat and said, “Thank you.”

“Where did you stay last night,” Edith chimed in.

“I stayed with Tina,” she lied without looking her mother in the eyes. She knew her parents would be upset if they knew the truth. And, most of her was scared to even breathe in the direction of the truth. She was not prepared to let them know all her night’s activities.

“Since you were late, we ordered for you. I know you will not mind,” Frank said. He was letting his daughter know he was not pleased with her tardiness. He expected perfection out of his children, anything less was unacceptable.

“Dad, I was late. I get that. You don’t have to be so rude to me,” Parker snapped.

“I advise you to watch your tone young lady,” Edith cautioned. “You are to speak to us with respect.”

“No,” Parker argued. “I will not be treated like I’m a criminal just because I was five minutes late to breakfast with my family. I did not kill anyone. Most parents would love to have a daughter as good as I am. I finished in the top ten of my class. I’ve had the same boyfriend of four years. You are practically planning our wedding. I got accepted into every college I applied for. I am going to the one you want me to go to in the fall. And, I have never done anything to disappoint you in my life. I deserve a little credit here.”

Her father picked up the news paper during her empowerment speech and tuned her out. He had had enough of her teenage tantrum the minute she sat down at the table five minutes late. He was not concerned with her excuses of why she was tardy or how good of a daughter she was. In his mind, those were not bragging rights. To him, she was already behind, she was not the top of her class. This was dishonorable.

No one dared to respond to Parker’s rant.

Parker fired back, “All my life I have tried to get your approval…”

Frank chuckled, “boohoo for you. Poor little privileged teenager had the world given to her and never got the approval she needed. You are making a scene. You can leave this table at once. We will discuss this at the house.”
“Fine,” she huffed scooting her chair out from under the table. “I didn’t want to eat with you anyway.”

No one spoke.

As she stormed off, they went back to eating as if she had never interrupted them. That enraged her. She wanted to pick up the gumball machine and knock each one of them over the head with it. She knew that would only get her in more trouble. So, she politely declined and left without another word.

This was a shitty day. Sloane had double booked. His friend Evan won another battle, shockingly. And, now her father was banishing her from the breakfast table. What the hell else could happen?

“You’ll never believe what I just did, Becky,” Parker called her friend on her drive back to Sloane’s.

“What did you do?”

“I told my parents off and walked out of the restaurant.”

“What’s going to happen to you?”

“I don’t know.”

“That’s not good,” Becky responded.

Even though she was trying to sound interested, Parker could tell something was going on with Becky. She was not fully pay attention to their conversation. “What’s wrong, Becky?”

“Nothing is wrong. Why do you ask?”

“You seem distracted.”

“I’m interested, but the room is spinning.”

“Oh,” she laughed, “I forgot how wasted you got last night.”

“Yeah,” she said as she was trying to steady herself to keep the phone on her ear and her head on the pillow without puking.

“You do know you were talking to your love?”

“I know can you believe it,” she gasped showing signs of her old self.

“You’re going to have to fill me in on how the night went.”

“I will, but…” she paused. “Oh, I have to go he’s coming back in the room.”

“What, no wait,” Parker tried to pull more information but Becky hung up too quickly.

She dialed Tina to gossip about Becky.

“Parker, I’ll call you back tomorrow,” Tina answered.

“Why?”

“Because,” Tina giggled.

“Do you have someone in the room with you too?”

“Too? Who else has someone in the room with them?”

“Becky,” she answered.

“Becky?”

“Yeah, she’s with Matt.”

“No, she’s not.”

“Yeah, I heard him.”

“You couldn’t have. She’s at my house.”

“Your house,” Parker was now completely confused.

“Unless,” Tina stated.

Parker could hear ruffling of the covers as Tina got out of her bed. She listened as she opened the bedroom door and headed down the hallway. A strange moaning could be heard out loud and clear through the phone.

“Did you hear that,” Tina asked.

“I did,” Parker giggled.

“Oh, hell no,” Tina said.

Parker could hear a loud bang. It went from a dead quiet to a sonic boom in a matter of three seconds. It sounded was like world war four was occurring on the other end of the receiver. Parker tried to make out what everyone was screaming. She heard something about a brother, followed by what sounded like a slap. It was utter chaos and Parker was on the outside of it all.

“Tina,” Parker screamed into the phone. There was a lot of background nose. She called out again, “Tina.”

“What are you doing!” Tina screamed.

“Nothing,” Charlie answered. “Get out of here!”
“Becky?” Tina asked.

“Tina, nothing is going on,” Becky giggled.

“Leave the covers alone. Get out of here,” Charlie screamed. “Tina I swear you better leave this room at once.”

“No,” Tina answered.

“Tina, leave us alone,” Becky replied.

“Are you sleeping with my brother?”

“No,” Charlie and Becky answered.

“Why are you both under the covers then?”

“Tina, get out of my room!”

“I hate you both right now,” Tina said.

She slammed the door behind her.

“Tina,” Parker called out.

“Are you still there?” Tina came back on the phone.

“Yeah,” Parker answered. “What is going on?”

“Becky is sleeping with my brother right now.”

“Really,” Parker replied. This was a shocking twist.

Tina was furious.

“That is weird.”

“Tell me about it. Last night, she gave her number to Matt. And, now I find her in bed with Charlie. What the hell is going on?”

“Hey, I can’t blame her. Charlie is hot,” Parker teased.

“Not funny. He’s my brother. You don’t sleep with my brother.”

“I would.”

“No, you wouldn’t,” Tina argued. “I would kick your ass.”

“I’m with Sloane. Not to worry, it would never happen anyways. But, your brother is way hotter than Brian.”

“Stop it,” Tina chuckled.

“At least, I got you to laugh. Is Brian in your room waiting on you?”

“Yeah,” Tina blushed.

“Did he hear all that chaos?”

“Probably.”

“You better get in there and make sure he understands the situation and doesn’t think you are just a crazy person.”

“Yeah, alright. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Okay, talk you soon. Don’t kill Becky for getting it in with your brother.”

“I won’t,” she moaned.

“Okay, bye,” Parker giggled.

As they hung up, Parker pulled up at the boathouse. It appeared to be a little more people than just Evan hanging out. She remembering him mentioning Sean and Jesse. There were more people at the place than just those few he had named. But, she didn’t recognize any of the cars. She pulled up next to one of the cars she believed to be Jesse’s and parked.

She slowly made her way around the cars towards the circle everyone has sitting in. She only saw Evan immediately. She could hear Sloane’s voice but could not locate him in the group.

“Oh, what’s up,” Sloane said. He was coming back towards the group holding beers and laughing with a couple of females.

Parker’s insecurity meter flew off the radar. She questioned, “Is this why you sent me away?”

“Sent you away,” he repeated. He walked around her to hand the beers to Evan and another girl walking in his shadow but not making eye contact with her.

“What are you doing,” Parker questioned.

Sloane laughed uncomfortably, “Not sure what you are talking about.”

The girl reached for Sloane’s back pocket. Parker almost lost her mind. “Who is this bitch?”

“Who me,” the girl fired back pointing to herself. “Don’t worry yourself with who I am.”

Parker opened her mouth to speak, but didn’t get the chance. Evan interrupted, “Actually, she is his girlfriend, Camera.”

The girls remained silent but kept disgusted looks at Parker. “His girlfriend,” she repeated.

“Yes,” Evan answered. “I told you this was a bad idea, Sloane.”

“Walk with me,” Sloane demanded taking Parker by the forearm and dragging her into the boathouse.

“Sloane, you’re hurting me,” she announced as the door shut behind them.

“What are you doing,” Sloane yelled.

“You have got to be kidding me,” she rolled her eyes. “You are here with girls while you make me go to breakfast with my family after you promised me you would go with me!”

He slammed his fist down on the wall behind her.

She flinched.

He then grabbed her face hard.

“Sloane,” she managed to spit out, “stop.”

Then, he kissed her.

“What are you doing?” She asked.

“What, it was the only way I could get you away from them without anyone thinking anything.”

“Clever,” she replied. “What about that girl?”

“Thank you,” he said lifting her up and sitting her on top of the counter. He kissed her again as he ran his fingers up her thighs. “Don’t worry about her. She is just a hood rat who thinks she has a chance with me. Nothing is going on with her and I.”

Parker believed him.

He softly kissed her lips.

Her skin tingled. This was better than last night. She wanted him to touch her. She wanted to feel him inside her. And, she could feel he wanted her. She closed her eyes as he pressed his lips against her neck. She breathed out as he unbuttoned her jeans.
